Old Course 11th tee to green par 3 - St Andrews Old Course Hole-by-Hole
A classic par three with the up-slope of the green holding the well struck tee shot, however, getting close to the flag position can be frustratingly difficult to achieve, especially when the flag is behind either bunker or top right. The three bunkers, visible from the tee, must be avoided but of equal danger is going too long where the drop off at the back of the green is deep, steep and wide. This 8 foot deep gulley, with no view of the flag or green, may provide one of the most difficult 2nd shots in golf - onto a downhill surface with not much room to stop the ball. A par here is a good score
